Lane closures are scheduled for this week throughout the Lower Bucks area PennDOT announced last week.

Lane closures are scheduled on Interstate 95, Interstate 295, and U.S. 13 (Bristol Road) in Bucks County on Tuesday, July 23, through Thursday, July 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for guide rail repairs transportation officials said.

The work locations include:

  • Northbound and southbound I-95 between the Philadelphia County line and Bristol Interchange in Bensalem and Bristol townships;
  • Eastbound I-295 between the Penndel/Levittown and U.S. 1 interchanges in Middletown Township; and
  • Northbound U.S. 13 (Bristol Road) between Mill Creek Road and Tyburn Road in Falls Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Additionally

Lane closures will be in place at night next week on U.S. 1 and Street Road (Route 132) for excavation, bridge construction and other activities on a project to reconstruct, widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of the highway in PennDOT also announced
The work schedule is:
  • Sunday, July 21, through Friday, July 26, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating northbound and southbound single lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway; and
  • Sunday, July 21, through Friday, July 26, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating eastbound and westbound single lane closures will be in place on Street Road (Route 132) between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way.
Moreover, the westbound Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) will be closed from 12:01 AM to 6:00 AM Sunday, July 21, between the Interstate 95 and U.S. 1/Bensalem interchanges for placement of deck beams on the new U.S.1 bridge over the Turnpike. The bridge is being replaced with a wider structure as part of the ongoing improvements to U.S. 1. Westbound Turnpike motorists will be detoured south on I-95 to the Woodhaven Road (Route 63) interchange, then west on Woodhaven Road and north on U.S. 1 to access the Turnpike interchange at Bensalem.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather permitting.
The work is part of a corridor improvement project, and the first of three construction contracts, to rebuild and widen U.S. 1; replace aging bridges; and install safety enhancements along a four-mile section of the expressway from just north of Philadelphia to just north of Route 413 (Pine Street) in Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough.
