Traffic Detours and Road Closures for Rothman 8K and 1/2 Marathon for Saturday

PHILADELPHIA HALF MARATHON & ROTHMAN 8K

On Saturday, 11-23-19, the Philadelphia Half Marathon & Rothman 8K will take place. The

following are the routes:

ROUTE-HALF MARATHON 7:25 AM

The race will begin on the B.F. Parkway at the Ivory Coast flagpole (2200 B.F. Parkway) and travel east in the westbound inner lanes of the Parkway to 16th Street; south on 16th to Market, east on Market, around the south side of City Hall, continue east on Market to 6th St., south on 6th  St. to Chestnut St., east on Chestnut to 5th St., north on 5th St. to Race, east on Race to Columbus Blvd., south on Columbus Blvd. to Washington Ave., west on Washington Ave. to Front St., north on Front St. to South St., west on South St. to 6th St., north on 6th St. to Lombard, west on Lombard to 13th St., north on 13th St. to Walnut, west on Walnut to 33rd St., north on 33rd St. to Spring Garden, west on Spring Garden to 34th St., north on 34th St. to Girard Ave., east on Girard to 33rd St., north on 33rd St. to Reservoir Dr., west on Reservoir Dr. to Mt. Pleasant Dr., south on Mt. Pleasant to Fountain Green Dr., Fountain Green to Kelly Dr., south on Kelly Dr. to the finish line on Kelly Dr. just south of Spring Garden St.

ROUTE-ROTHMAN 8K 10:40 AM

The race will begin on the B.F. Parkway at the Ivory Coast flagpole (2200 B.F. Parkway) and travel east on Parkway to clockwise loop around Logan Circle; west on Parkway to south side of Eakins Oval; continue onto MLK Drive (expressway side of road); MLK Drive to turnaround near the Disabled Rowers Parking Lot; continue inbound (river side of road) toward the Art Museum; take left hand ramp to front of Art Museum; continue around north side of Eakins Oval to finish line on Kelly Dr. just south of Spring Garden St..

-Eakins Oval and Inner Drives of B. F. Parkway from 20th Street to the Eakins Oval.

11-23-19, 2:45 PM to 2:00 AM:

-East bound Inner lanes of the B. F. Parkway from Binswanger Triangle to 22nd Street.

11-24-19, 2:00 AM:

-Eakins Oval

-B. F. Parkway, 20th St. to Eakins Oval

-Spring Garden, Pennsylvania to Kelly Dr.

-Kelly Drive, inbound, from Fairmount Ave.

-Spring Garden Street Bridge, inbound from Anne d’Harnoncourt Dr.

-MLK Drive, inbound at the Sweet Briar Cut-off

11-23-19, Road Openings:

-East of City Hall should be open by 10:00 AM

-West of the Art Museum, East Fairmount Park & West Philly should be open by

2:00 PM

11-23-19 at 3:00 PM to 11-24-19 at 2:00 AM:

-The entire route will be open with the exception of east bound Inner lanes of the

B. F. Parkway from Binswanger Triangle to 22nd Street.

There will be a detail assigned to this event, but traffic in the area could be      heavy at times. When it is possible, the cross streets will be allowed to run

with the exception of 20th, 21st, & 22nd Street. It is requested that all Traffic

News Agencies be notified of these delays.
