Deliberately Set Fire In Frankford Guts Garage

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of a one alarm fire that damaged a garage and attached building along  Mulberry Street.  The building, sat back off the road and was difficult to get to. Multiple water lines were stretched during the afternoon blaze on May 9 2020. No injuries were reported.

As first in fire crews arrived, they reported back they had heavy smoke and some fire showing. There was a bit of confusion over the address and best way to locate the building on fire.  Four engines and two ladder trucks were in service at one point.  Orthodox and Mulberry Street were closed to traffic for about two hours, as companies battled the fire and then cleared from the scene.

Police and fire officials will be searching for nearby video to determine if they can find out who set the fire.
