Woman Charged After Running Over Officer During Riots

During the height of the riots to protest George Floyd,  Philadelphia Police Officer Antionio Nieves was doing his job on the 700 block of Chestnut Street, when he was run over by an SUV. The driver kept going in spite of the best efforts of police to make her stop.

After an extensive investigation,  Angela Hall of Harley Terrace was arrested late Monday, June 8 2020. She was charged with attempted murder, leaving the scene of an accident aggravated assault and other charges.  Officer Nieves was seriously injured with several broken ribs and a cracked vertebra. He was a bicycle officer at the time of the incident.
