Serious Crash In Mayfair Shuts Tyson Avenue

A two vehicle crash at the intersection of Cottage Street and Tyson Avenue forced traffic to be diverted in both directions for over an hour, as the scene was investigated and cleared.  This accident happened at an intersection  which had functioning traffic lights at the time of the wreck. This accident was caused by one of the car disregarding a red light, police said.

Two people sustained injury and were taken to  to go to local hospitals. The crash happened about 5:15 PM. August 8 2020. None of the injuries was said to be life threatening, police said.  Recent storm damage  caused PECO and other utility wires to be in the street. These wires were not live. People that passed by the accident could assume those wires had something to do with the crash.

  1. The article states non life threating injuries,well a passenger was 9 at the time and suffered a great deal. her jaw was broke in three places. her name is Jesele Tucker and she is my daughter
