Woman Jailed For Causing Overdose Death Of Bensalem Male

by Alex Lloyd Gross

A Montgomery County woman is facing serious charges. She was arrested today, January 6 2021 and is charged with delivering drugs that caused the overdose death of Matthew Graham on June 12, 2020.

Police allege that on that date Corrine Marie Smith, 42, of Jenkintown is accused of delivering  fentanyl and heroin to Graham who was at the Penn L Hotel. When police and medics got a call about an OD, they  found Graham inside the room dead.

Inside the hotel room was a cell phone and after a long investigation, cops were able to trace Facebook messages between Graham and Smith. Those chats  confirmed that the two conspired to travel to Philadelphia to buy drugs. Smith brought the drugs to Graham, later, police said.

An autopsy later determined Graham died of fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine toxicity.
“We may never stop fatal drug overdoses from occurring, but we are nevertheless mandated to hold the drug dealers who deliver the fatal drugs criminally accountable in the name of public safety,” District Attorney Matt Weintraub said. “I commend law enforcement investigators for their efforts in doing so in this case.”
