Children Robbed and Beaten Playing Basketball In Port Richmond

by Alex Lloyd Gross

On June 24, 2021, two children, aged 12 and 15 were playing basketball at the Cione Recreation Center, which is on the 2600 block of Aramingo Avenue.   They were not bothering anyone when an unknown male showed up and started to run his mouth and interfere with their game.  This male was no tough guy because he quickly called over another male to help him.

Three other males then saw what was going on and joined in the argument, which turned violent, when the second suspect started to throw punches.  They took by force a black book bag belonging to one of the boys playing basketball. Inside was an i-Phone 11. As if that was not enough, they also took his wallet which contained $100.00. They all ran north on Aramingo Avenue.

All of the youths involved in the robbery are wanted for robbery and assault. look at the below video to see if  you recognize anyone.  The playground was well lighted and has security cameras.  Perhaps the robbers did not know this or did not care. Maybe they thought the cameras would not record the robbery. They were wrong. Go here to look at the video..
