Two males  were arrested after they were riding in a stolen car taken in a car jacking .  Police are looking  to see if this is the same carjacking that killed  60 year old George Bricella, who  was murdered behind his mothers house on Afton  Street in Rhawnhurst last week. Police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a crash on Grant Avenue at Evans Street , just off the Roosevelt Boulevard today, February 11, 2022. To date, those responsible have yet  to be caught.

When police arrived, they found a vehicle that had been struck by the stolen RAV-4  flipped onto the lawn of a house.  Two males were arrested for the stolen car, which  had been used in several robberies, police said.  Inside the car, police recovered a pair of sneakers, a gun and other evidence.  It is unknown if the males were spooked by what they thought was a police car, but they were driving reckless.

Both cars were totaled in the crash.  A third car with damage on it sat on the opposite side of Grant Avenue,  which may have been involved in the crash.  None of the males arrested have been identified  and none have been charged.  Police have not confirmed that these two are the males that committed the shooting and car jacking, however, the car was the vehicle taken in a crime, authorities said.

The males are suspects in at least two armed hold ups, of a gas station and a convenience store in the northeast.  They were held at the scene for a good while, before they were placed into wagons for transport.  There is a good chance they will face federal prison time.

When the accident happened, the males tried to flee the scene but here held by bystanders until police could arrive.
