Arson suspects come in all ages and walks of life.  Philadelphia Police  and the fire marshal were called to a hotel on the 1200 block of Vine Street on March 4, 2022.  A male had  put toilet paper and other kinds of paper products into two different trash cans and then set them on fire.   The male then left the hotel.

The fire department was called and extinguished the fire.  Due to the smoke, the room was uninhabitable and suffered smoke damage.  The hotel provided police a photo of the male that rented the hotel room. That photo was put out to police and businesses in the area.

Alert security patrolling the nearby Greyhound Bus Terminal, the saw the same male in the photo. They called police  who roused the man from a bench. The male was wearing the same clothing and looked exactly like the man in the hotel room photo. He was on his way to Florida. He then was arrested and charged with arson. It was determined that the male was identified as Gary Cabana. He was also wanted out of New York City for similar crimes.

New York officials have started the extradition process to bring him to justice there.
