When firefighters arrived at a self storage facility on the 5400 block of Eadom Street, they were greeted by heavy fire. The building measures about 200 by 300 and it had all the makings of a multi- alarm fire.  Quick work by fire crews held it to one alarm.  The building had what appeared to be offices on top and that is where the fire started, officials said.

The fire spread fast and consumed some of the storage units.  There were no injuries, officials said. At one point, firefighters determined that other city agencies were required to assist. L&I was called to the scene, as well as PECO,, the Water Department and the Health Department because they found food  that could have been damaged.
