One male is in police custody after witnesses claim he was the driver of a vehicle that slammed into a business on Bristol Pike in Bensalem, and struck the owner with a car. He then ran from the scene, police said.
The owner was in a golf cart sitting outside , when a southbound Cadillac , lost control and careened across the parking lot. Witnesses said that the vehicle struck the owner who was standing with a bunch of people . Those people were able to scatter and were not hit. The injuries are said to be serious. This took place on the 4000 block of Bristol Pike, near the border with Bristol Township.
Rather than stick around, the driver ran from the scene, across the street. He was chased by several people and captured on Maple Avenue, less than a quarter mile from the scene. He was held for police and offered no resistance to being arrested. Police did not release his name as he was not formally charged.
