Male In Custody For Shooting Gun In Somerton

One male is in police custody, and charges are pending, after he held police at bay when they responded to his apartment complex on the 800 block of Red Lion Road. He was firing a back semi automatic gun into the air. He was in the parking lot. The call came out at 2:23PM and as soon as police arrived, the male retreated into an apartment. Inside that unit was another adult male and five year old child.
It is not known the relationship between the gunman and the people inside the apartment. They could be family members. Police were not certain. A short time later, the male was taken into custody. He may be given a mental health evaluation, before charges are filed. There were no injuries reported.
