There were no reports of injuries  from a one alarm fire on the 4100 block of Street Road  It was called in  about 9:00 AM  and police  reported heavy smoke coming from the building, which was a commercial building.  Fire crews got there and went to work with multiple hand lines. A full box assignment was requested.

There were multiple calls for the utility service to be shut off but it took PECO at least 30 minutes to get to the scene.  Multiple firetrucks were placed on both sides of Street Road, which caused the area of Street Road between Old Lincoln Highway and the Red Roof Inn area to be closed. Traffic was a nightmare along Old Lincoln Highway, as police at that intersection were overwhelmed with cars coming from three directions.

The fire was declared under control  close to 10:00 AM. A cause has yet to be determined.  It is unclear what the building was used for.  Fire companies from Penndel and Southampton were on scene assisting Bensalem units. .

Police responding to the scene were involved in an accident.
