President Joe Biden paid another visit to Philadelphia. This time, he went to the Finishing Trades Institute on Hornig Road.  He was there to talk about his budget and what it will mean.for voters.

He was adamant about not cutting any programs like Social Security. He tricked the MAGA Republicans to come out against any cuts in his State Of the Union Address. “But what about the Affordable Care Act,  or Medicaid” ?he asked a small crowd of invited guests.  He vowed to not support any cuts in those programs.

Biden also talked about not raising taxes on those making less than $400,000 per year. “I want to get a fair tax system, who here thinks the current tax system is fair” he asked the crowd. . Not one hand went up. “It’s not fair for billionaires to pay  three percent in taxes, No billionaire should be paying a lower tax rate than a firefighter”, Biden said.

Biden stood behind his podium for a bit but then grabbed a microphone and wandered his stage. He would look out into sections of the crowd to make certain emphasis on  his points. As the president spoke, a few people shouted in agreement. One such time was when he spoke about  limit federal borrowing, including a reversal of the 2017 tax cuts made by then President Donald Trump . In fact, Biden only referred to his predecessor by name one time. Every other time he referenced “The prior administration”.

During the riots during the spring of 2020, “Defund the police ” was a rallying cry. Biden said he will not do that. He will invest in training and equipment instead.

The president was  speaking to a friendly crowd. There were no protestors of hecklers. At times, the crowd was quiet. So quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
