Person Struck and Killed By Train Near Bridge Street

SEPTA and Amtrak officials are investigating a fatal person struck by train incident late last night, near the Bridgesburg Station. Officials did not give much information except to say the train that hit the pedestrian was a SEPTA train, inbound to the station. The train was the Trenton Line.
After the accident, passengers were kept on the train for over two hours, while the investigation was done. The doors to the stopped train finally opened near Bridge Street, where SEPTA buses were waiting to shuttle passengers, two hours after the incident. Service was disrupted until after 11:30PM in both directions. The identity of the person has not yet been released.
