Bensalem Cops Want Wallet Thief Caught In The Act

Some people are smart enough not to commit crimes. Then there is the guy in the photo on top of this story.  He was in the Bensalem Shoprite, on Bristol Road,  on April 20,2023. This was it  2:45 PM. He spotted a woman shopping and her purse was open, as is a good number of females that shop in supermarkets. They keep their purse open to get to coupons and are not 100 percent focused on their purse. He reached into her purse and removed her wallet. It’s caught on camera.

The thief follows the woman and when she is distracted, he reached into her purse and removed her wallet. It took less than 10 seconds. This thief, a black male in his 50’s, police said, was wearing a black mask and a Jeff cap.  He walked from the store. Police did not say if outside cameras caught what kind of car he had, or if he was on foot.

If you know who he is, (215) 633-3719 is the number to call. Police want to hear from you, so they can give him a new residence in Doylestown.

  1. Whoever wrote this article, really needs a major reality check as to the comments that they made about women. Not every woman leaves their purse open, you’re what they bringing a purse in to a supermarket, so your statement us not only sexist, but wrong!

  2. Wendy,

My article was spot on. I never said all women. A good number is what I wrote, which according to police stats is unfortunatley, true. Most people have their guard down in a supermarket. A lot of people leave their car unlocked and a good number of those cars get stolen.

Let’s concentrate on the fact that this scum preyed on the shopper and let’s get him caught. Notice how he is standing, classic pickpocket stance, with a jacket draped over his arm for concealment. Probably not the first time he has done this.

The only thing sexist is the thief preying on women.
