Bensalem Police are investigating a hit and run that happened on Route 1  just after 9:00 PM.   This took place in the northbound lanes of the road in front of the Lincoln Motel.  Several crime scene markers were on the street as was a NY Yankees baseball cap.  Police had to shut down the road, so Bensalem cops drove to Southampton Road to close down the road until Philadelphia could get there.

The condition of the male is very serious.  A firetruck was on scene providing lighting and was replaced by the Crime Scene Unit.  When asked what kind of vehicle they were looking for, police would only say it is under investigation.  That investigation will entail checking township and local business cameras that are set up in that area.

A bicycle was observed on the sidewalk near the scene, unattended, Police did not say if it was involved.  A good Samaritan that stopped to help found out her car would not start and was left in the turn lane until a tow truck could arrive to help.

This story will be updated later, with more complete information.
