Trenton Gang Member Convicted In Bristol Township Murder

On the night of January 18,2020, Robert Christie and Joshua Mcrae was riding in the same vehicle, coming home from a bar in Bristol Township. During that ride, Mcrea said something that irritated Christie so much that he shot him.

The car pulled over and the body of Mcrae was dumped on I-295, but not before Christie tried to shoot him at least one more time, according to court records.

The murder remained unsolved until detectives were able to examine cell phone records, social media posts and electronic surveillance, an arrest was made.

Christie, a self-professed triple-OG Nine Trey Gangster, testified on his own behalf. He admitted he turned around and shot Mcrae at least five times, then dragged the dying man out of the vehicle and dumped him on the side of the highway in Bristol Township

Christie took the stand in his own defense and admitted to the shooting. He unsuccessfully said it was done in self defense.

Two cooperating witnesses are awaiting trial on charges of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, abuse of a corpse, and hindering apprehension. One is also facing charges of prohibited possession of a firearm and sales to ineligible transferee.

Judge Wallace Bateman deferred sentencing to an unspecified date in the future.
