Woman In Custody As Police Investigate SEPTA Driver Murder

A woman called a person of interest is being questioned by police, after a bus driver was shot and killed while driving his bus on the 4600 block of Germantown Ave. Sources said he was with the transit agency employed as a bus driver for 12 years. He was assigned to drive the Route 23 bus.

Police said that the woman was on the bus and got off the bus. She then turned and fired a gun directly at the driver, she then exited the bus and got back on multiple times, firing more shots directly at the driver. The bus was full of passengers but no one else was shot, police said.

They had video of the woman and a female who fit the description was picked up by Transit Police a few blocks away. She has not been charged at this point in time, officials said. The shooting happened about 10:30 AM.The unnamed bus driver was pronounced at Einstein Hospital.
