Male Arrested In Connection With Pennypack Park Assaults

Two weeks ago, police made the public aware of a male who attacked people inside Pennypack Park. On three occasions, this male brandished a knife and stabbed, or attempted to stab three random people. One person, in the third assault got away. Today, Philadelphia Police announced the arrest of 46 year old Elias Diaz.
It was yesterday when officers spotted him on his black bicycle and he had his machete with him, police said. They arrested him and charged him with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault and related offenses.

The attacks usually happened during the morning hours between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
