It was about 10:30 AM yesterday, when a car and motorcycle collided on the Northbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard at Ryan Ave. The driver of the motorcycle was an off duty police officer, authorities said. The motorcycle was on the ground with the rider several feet from it, when medics arrived.

The driver of the car sustained minor injuries, police said. The motorcycle rider sustained serious but not life threatening injuries, police said. The road was wet with intermittent rain at the time of the crash. Police did not say what or who caused the crash. Traffic was closed on Ryan Ave for about an hour and the northbound outer lanes of the Blvd. had intermittent closures until the scene could be cleared.
