Couple Arrested For Trying To Defraud Skill Game In Lower Moreland

A male and female are under arrest in Lower Moreland, Montgomery County Pa, after police said they tried to defraud a merchant that had a skill game inside. Skill games will issue you a ticket and those tickets can be redeemed for cash.

According to police, Christopher Ansemi and Cayla Smith went into a shop on the 2800 block of Philmont Avenue and put a small amount of money into the game. They then cashed out and took their ticket. They left the store with the ticket and returned shortly, with a different ticket that had the same information but a higher payout amount.

Police said they had done this before and when the clerk balanced the numbers against the machine, they were short. Police were called and arrived while the two were still inside with their fake tickets during the afternoon of February 6 2024. .

When searched, Anselmi was found to have drugs on him, police said. Both were charged with the same offenses, with the exception of Smith, who was not charged with drug possession.
