Police have sent John Wadlinger of Croydon to sit in the Bucks County Prison on a probation violation. He will sit in there until police formally charge him in connection with the double fatal accident on February 24, 2024. This accident killed a couple, Rebecca and Richard Whiddon of Brooklyn, Connecticut. They were in the area visiting friends.

Kristal Lynn The dump truck flipped over on 413.

Police said that Wadlinger was behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer and then ran away on foot after the accident. Wadlinger is said to be the male that allegedly stole a dump truck and flipped it over on Veterans Highway at Old Rodgers Road, just a quarter mile from his crash on Veterans Highway and Ford Road.

It is going to take time to charge Wadlinger . Police have a lot of evidence they have to go through, fingerprints, DNA evidence, video, for example. The last thing police want is to rush the charges and have his lawyer weasel him out on a technicality. He is sitting in jail on his probation detainer, not going anywhere. If officers need to speak with him they can find him easily.

Wadlinger’s Facebook page shows him to work as a deck installer. It is unknown if the Ford he was driving was his or in stolen status, or borrowed. Police were out at Ford and Veterans Highway the day after the accident to do additional investigation. Bristol Township Fire Police assisted at the accident scene and again for the investigation.
