Warrant Issued For Male That Assaulted Police
Bensalem Police were investigating a narcotics case yesterday at the Quality Inn on Street Road about 3:00PM. When police went to arrest a male who was in a white Mercedes SUV , he sped away, but not before striking two police cars. No officers were injured.
The Mercedes driver sped past a red light on Street Road, and almost collided with a truck. Police were in pursuit and tried to follow the car north on Route 1, but the driver eluded officers.
He abandoned the Mercedes near West Highland and Hulmeville Ave., police said, and fled on foot. Police used drones and a K-9 to track the suspect. Officers used security camera footage to determine the vehicle was on Route 1 and then the vehicle was found abandoned.
The suspect has been identified as Elovens Joseph, from Trenon New Jersey. He is wanted for 1 Count) Manufacture Deliver or Possess With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (1 Count) Criminal Use Of Communication Facility (F3) & (1 Count) Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officer (M) & (1 count) Simple Assault
