by Alex Lloyd Gross

The first time that 33 year old Christopher Daniels was convicted of having child pornography, was in 2015. He got just under six years in prison and was on probation for 10 years. He also had to register as a sex offender with the Pennsylvania State Police. Daniels did not update his status with the state police and was considered non-compliant. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

On November 3, 2022, Daniels got a visit from the US Marshals who took him into custody for his warrant. The FBI got a search warrant for his computer and other electronic devices, US Attorney Jacqueline Romero said. More than 1000 photos and videos of child porn was found on his computer. He was charged a second time and was just convicted last week for the second time.

“After leaving prison in 2021, Mr. Daniels understood his legal responsibilities: comply with the requirements of his supervised release, keep his sex offender registration up to date, and stay away from material depicting the horrific sexual exploitation of children,” said U.S. Attorney Romero. “Well, he did none of those things, and this verdict ensures he’ll answer for it. The safety of our community and its children is the top priority of my office and our law enforcement partners.”

Daniels faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a statutory maximum of 130 years in prison, and from five years up to a lifetime of supervised release. He also faces a consecutive sentence of two years in prison on his violation of supervised release.
