by Alex Lloyd Gross

Philadelphia Police are investigating a huge cargo theft that happened early yesterday at 1:50 AM on the 2800 block of Charter Road. It was there that a tractor trailer was parked and the driver was inside the cab, sleeping.

He heard a noise and went to investigate, police said. He scared off two black males who were stealing product from the rear of his truck. They got away with 56 cases of frozen pork. They were ;last observed going on Red Lion Road towards the Boulevard, in a bronze Lexus.

Restaurants and food service providers should be aware to this and avoid any unknown sellers of food, looking to unload pork cheap. It must be refrigerated and it’s doubtful the thieves will follow any safe food handling guidelines
