Bristol Touch A Truck Was Huge Success

by Alex Lloyd Gross

Small children and kids at heart got a kick from going to the Bristol Township complex yesterday. It was the annual Touch A Truck event and the weather cooperated. Originally this was planned for Saturday, but inclement weather pushed it back to Sunday. No rain, temps in the mid 70’s, it was perfect.

At this event, people can climb in and on large trucks, from fire trucks to large heavy duty wreckers. All of the township fire companies were represented including the paid department. The police brought out their SWAT truck and allowed people to try on real SWAT bear and pose for photos with riot shields and battering rams.

The event started about 11:00 AM and wrapped up by 3:00 PM. A few early birds were there to watch the set up. For smaller children, there were bounce houses. A bit further down on the complex grounds was a small vendor area. Township officials said the event attracted thousands.
