Inmate Arrested For Prison Stabbing In Philadelphia



An inmate in the Philadelphia Riverside Correctional Facility was stabbed and seriously injured during an assault about 6:07 PM . Officials reported that a 28-year-old male inmate was stabbed multiple times. He sustained one stab wound to the face, four to the back of the head, and two to the back of the neck. Prison personnel transported the victim to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where his condition is listed as stable.

Security cameras that captured all or part of the incident will be reviewed by prison officials and police detectives. The weapon was recovered and one inmate was taken into custody, officials said.
