Aramark Strike Lingers On

People going to the sports complex for an event are greeted by striking workers from Aramark. These are the people that serve you food. They are on strike for better pay and better working conditions, they said.
According to a striking worker that was not authorized to speak with the press, workers are paid different wages for the same work but at different stadiums. For example an entry level worker at the center, will get $14.11/hr but if they go across the street to Lincoln Financial Field they can net $16.50.hr. Workers say that is not fair and they want it changed.
Striking workers have been seen walking around the stadiums handling out leaflets and to fans to get their support. Aramark continues to say they are committed to fair pay and making sure their customers and employees are treated fairly.
Many fans say they are unsympathetic to a huge corporation that has a multi million dollar skyscraper in the city, yet cannot pay their employees more money, while they collect almost $30.00 for a steak and soda or $20.00 for a hot dog and drink at the stadiums.
To insure fans are fed, Aramark has contracted with temp agencies to supply workers while they pay these temp workers and average of $17,00 per hour. A recent Sixers game saw a cashier making over $21.00/hr who was replacing a striking worker.
