Shady Contractor Arrested In Lower Moreland

A contractor named William Green met with a potential customer on Kent Road to get a roof replaced In August 2025. Green examined the roof and told the customer it would cost $16,000. Green told him that he could start the job in September. He asked for and got a deposit for $8000,00.
When September of 2025 came around the roof was not started. The customer started to communicate with Green, who suddenly stopped all communications with the customer. The customer was lead to believe that William Green was affiliated with Yeatts Roofing, and when that company was contacted. According to court documents, , the owner texted back that “I can’t believe Green got him caught up in this again”. He said he was not wrapped up in whatever Green was doing.
When police checked with Yeatts Roofing the owner told officers that Green asked him if he could have the check made payable to Yeatts Roofing because Green did not have an LLC, according to court documents.
Green cashed the check at Richmond Check Cashing at pocketed $7890 after fees, according to police reports.
