License Plate Reader Credited For Helping Recover Stolen Car In Lower Moreland

A Northeast Philadelphia Male is under arrest in Lower Moreland Twp, charged with Receiving Stolen Property, after he was stopped driving a vehicle confirmed to be stolen in Philadelphia. This started on April 20,2026 when a license plate reader (LPR) near Welsh Road and Huntingdon Pike picked up a Nissan Altima in stolen status.

Police looked for the car but could not find it. According to police records, it happened again the next day. This time police were able to spot the vehicle and pulled over the driver.

After confirming with Northeast Detectives the vehicle was still in stolen status, the driver, Devon Golding, from Benson Street was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. Golding mentioned something about an accident but could not provide any more information, police said in court documents.

Golding was released on a signature bond of $10,000.His next court date is June 5,2026.
