Male Shot In Northeast Philly Over A Parking Spot

One male is under arrest and the other at Jefferson Hospital, Torresdale Division after an argument over a parking spot last night on the 5900 block of Jackson St. Police did not release the name of the male under arrest until he is formally charged.

It was about 10:52 PM when police got a call about an armed subject on Jackson St. When officers arrived,they were met by a 28 year old male who told officers that she shot another male over a parking spot. That male was driven by bystanders to a fire station and from there taken to the hospital. He had been shot in the leg, police said.

The shooter told officers he secured the gun in his apartment. Officers got a search warrant and found the gun, a Ruger .380

  1. In the late 1950s, early 60’s, I grew up a few steps from the intersection of Jackson and Howell st.
    We never heard about such violence in that neighborhood back then.
    The biggest “top story” that we heard was little Jimmy skinning his knee after falling off his bicycle.
    And the biggest crime was me eating rasberries and oranges from Mrs Anderson’s backyard.
