Shredding Event Held In Bensalem Yesterday
The annual document shredding event was held yesterday, at the Bensalem Township High School. It went off better than last year, when a truck broke down and another was filled quickly. “This year, we brought two more trucks and we’re busier than ever,just look”, said Frank Curran, from State Rep KC Tomlinson’s office, as he gestured at the cars moving through. The event was sponsored by State Senator Frank Farry and Rep Tomlinson, (both Republicans) who represent this district.
The event was supposed to start at 10:00 AM but “Everything was set up before then, so we opened it.:, Crran said. By 9:45 AM, cars would pull up, get funneled by volunteers into one of two lines and then volunteers would grab the boxes or paper bags of old bills, reports, invoices or whatever personal paperwork folks had.

Senator Farry showed up about 10:15 AM and went to help load some paper work into giant bins. Those bins would then go into a truck for shredding. Rep Tomlinson did the same thing. However, a lot of people coming by knew her and wanted to chat for a few.
The wait times in lines were non existent. Someone could enter the parking lot and be on their way in less than three minutes. People could also drop off pet food which was donated to the Woman’s Animal Shelter. There were lots of bags of food and blankets for cats and dogs.
To the rear portion of the school was a mattress sale that benefited students of the school. The four trucks and earlier than advertised start time helped make the difference between a line and no line. This event is held every year.
