US Marshal’s Arrest 41 Fugitives Living In Public Housing In Delaware Valley

At least 41 fugitives from justice have been living in government subsidized housing in the area, at the expense of people trying to get on the HUD list for housing. The US Marshals Service put together an operation called “Moving Day” and they found 41 people that have not appeared for their day in court.
These are not people wanted for moving violations. Some of these people are wanted as violent felons, such as for arson, aggravated assault, shooting, armed robbery, and crimes against children. People like Caliph Gilliam, 31, was wanted for attempted murder in relation to a August 2026 shooting. A female was found shot in the 3300 block of N. Smedley and a warrant for Gilliam was issued August 5th.
Andru Dennis, 23, was wanted for indecent assault, contact with a minor, and corruption of a minor. Dennis was an employed at the Bregy Elementary school and charged on April 24th with numerous inappropriate contacts with a juvenile.
“This operation sends a clear message that those who threaten the safety of HUD-assisted communities will be held accountable,” said Shawn Rice, Special Agent in Charge for the HUD Office of Inspector General. “Through our relentless work with the U.S. Marshals Service, dangerous fugitives have been taken off the streets, and HUD-assisted housing across the Philadelphia area and beyond is safer as a result.”
