An unidentified male in his late 20,s is lucky to be alive, after being struck by a speeding Amtrak train  last night in Croydon.  as the Croydon fire Company  responded to the call, they had to determine where the man was, on the dark tracks. They found him,  on the tracks that run along route 13 near Franklin Ave.  They quickly found that no helicopters were flying due to a weather threat, so they had to help the medics lift him from the tracks and into an ambulance.  all train service in the area was affected, until the tracks  could be cleared.

It is unknown why the man was on the tracks,  if he attempted to kill himself, or if  he was trying to cross the tracks and did not get away from the train in time.  Train tracks are not a shortcut and it,s not a place to play. It is unknown if Amtrak police will press  charges against this man for trespassing, should he survive.
