Two drivers hurt in Mayfair crash

Two drivers sustained varying degrees of injury after a grinding two car a crash shut down traffic on Frankford Avenue June 27 2018. The accident happened near the intersection of Frankford Ave.and Brighton Streets.  Witnesses reports stated that a passenger car was driving at high speed down the center lane, which is restricted for vehicles making turns.  That vehicle slammed into a van that was traveling north on Frankford Ave. One driver was trapped in the vehicle for a brief period of time, Heavy Rescue was called but they were not needed.

Police said that the road was closed for about two hours in both directions. Curious onlookers arrived to find out what was going on. They would walk up, observe two smashed cars in the middle of the street and ask police if there had been an accident.   The owner of the van lived in Huntingdon Valley. The female driver of the car resides in Frankford, police said.
