Head on crash in Bensalem closes Knights Road

A head on crash on busy Knights Road in Bensalem sent at least two people to local hospitals tonight, October 29, 2018. The crash happened just after 8;00 PM on the 2400 block of Knights Road at the border to Philadelphia. Both vehicles, a Ford and a Smart car were demolished. Police in Bensalem said that they had two different stories as to how the accident happened. One thing is certain, one vehicles was in the wrong lane.
At least two ambulances were called to the scene. South bound Knights Road was closed to traffic. Cars were pushed into the northbound lanes, around the crash scene. This traffic pattern was in place for over an hour until wreckers could remove the vehicles. Police said that the injuries were serious but not life threatening. The drivers were not identified at the accident scene. One driver, a female was said to live in the area. No charges have been filed at this time.
