Pedestrian Struck By Truck In Bensalem

A pedestrian was struck by a tractor trailer on the 2400 block of Knights Road, this morning.  Police said that the incident happened about 10:50 AM in the northbound lanes of Knights Road,  just past the city limits.  

The male pedestrian was attempting to cross busy Knights Road just prior to the entrance to the Creekside Apartments, where he lived, when a northbound truck struck him. The injuries were said to be very serious  and he was rushed to Jefferson Hospital, Torresdale Division .

 

The driver of the truck, who was hauling freight for JB Hunt remained on the scene and cooperated with police. He was shaken up but not hurt. He declined any medical treatment.   The northbound lanes of Knights Road were closed for an investigation but SEPTA buses were able to get through, as southbound traffic was held.  The crash scene was cleared by 1:30 PM
