Serious Accident Closes Academy Road In Parkwood

One male driving reckless is being blamed for a three car accident on the 12400 block of Academy Road in the Parkwood section of the far Northeast. Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a car traveling from Knights Road on Academy bounced off curbs as he was heading towards Byberry Road. The vehicle then veered across the road into on coming traffic and struck two other cars.
All of the injured people were taken to a parking lot for triage. None of them are life threatening. The vehicles are seriously damaged, with the at fault vehicle catching fire and being burned to a crisp. The wreck happened just before noon . Academy Road was closed for an extended time frame for clean up.
