Whoopi Goldberg Suspended From “The View” Over Holocaust Remark

by Alex Lloyd Gross

Popular talk show personality and actress Whoopie  Goldberg has been suspended by ABC for her comments regarding the Holocaust.   She claimed it was “Not about race”, which is the comment that many people find offensive.  Whoopie claimed that Nazi’s and Jewish people were White.  What she failed to remember was that Nazi’s did not see Jewish people as White, but rather sub-human, even below rodents.

Adolf Hitler was a small man with mental problems. He also had a big mouth and  was very good at yelling. For some reason, many people thought that he was making sense. At that time, Germany was economically depressed and it’s citizens were  financially  under banked.  Hitler, in his movement blamed the Jewish religion for keeping Germany in the shape it was in.  Hitler was also delusional and not well educated. In spite of these massive shortcomings,  he was able to start a movement that saw the extermination of over 6 million Jews, and other minorities.

Goldberg was told by ABC brass that she would not be appearing on The View for a period of two weeks. She was told to take time off to reflect and learn about her comments.  The show was discussing a Tennessee School Board banning the book Maus, which deals with the Holocaust.  Since the school board voted to ban the book,  requests for and sales of the book have exploded.

When books are banned, people want to read them to find out why . People, especially children do not like being told what books  or music to listen to or read. Goldberg quickly apologized for her comments.  Her comment comes as comments and attacks on Jewish people have rising by an alarming rate recently.
