Nathan Manning is in very serious trouble.  Not only will be face state charges for a gun related carjacking that happened January 23, 2022, once the feds get wind of the arrest, chances are very good he may not see daylight again for a very long time, if he is convicted.  The entire incident happened on the above date about 9:00 AM when the victim was sleeping in his vehicle along the 2000 block of E. Glenwood Street.  A black male wearing a black sweatshirt  approached and pointed a gun at him. Police said that Manning allegedly  demanded the victim’s watch and told him to exit the vehicle, which he did.

The victim then saw his 2016 black Mercedes being driven away.  Fast forward to February 8, 2022. The victim’s friend saw his vehicle parked on the 4200 block of Torresdale Ave. The friend watched as Manning entered the vehicle and drove away.  In the meantime, the victim was on the phone with police  and was telling them turn by turn where his car was.  Manning then stopped on the 4800 block of Tacony Street, at a gas station.  Unknown to Manning, the victim was en route to that location as well.  When the victim got to the gas station, he observed his car and the male driving it was the same male that  allegedly held him up and stole the car, police said.

Police entered the parking lot and went to speak with the  male driving the car. When he saw police approach, he sped off down Aramingo Avenue with police in pursuit. The victim was following police. When the car got to Richmond and Lefevere Streets, the stolen car then smashed into a parked vehicle.  The driver , identified as Nathan Manning ran away but was caught by police.  He fought and swung his elbows at police, causing an officer to sustain a shoulder injury and possible broken nose, police said.

Manning is charged with robbery, carjacking and resisting arrest.  Since his case meets all the criteria for the feds to get involved under the All Hands On Deck Initiative to get violent criminals off the street , Manning will most probably be facing federal charges as well.
