Police Report Two Fatal Shootings Near Kensington

Philadelphia Police have just  released information on two fatal shootings that happened near Kensington. No arrests have been made in either incident.

On Friday, March 25, 2022, at approximately 12:35 P.M., 24th District Officers responded to E-911 call for a hospital case on the 2800 block of Ruth Street. A 34-year-old black male was located in a vacant lot, wrapped in a tarp with his hands and feet tied up.  PFD-Medic Unit #8 pronounced the victim on the scene at 12:51 P.M. The deceased was transported to Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death. The victim had an injury to his head, which was determined to be a gunshot wound.  He was identified as Sirius Star of the 1400 block of Greeby Street. Scene held, no arrest, and no weapon recovered.   The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives

The other murder happened  last night,, March 28, 2022, at approximately 7:58 P.M., 24th District Officers responded to E-911 call for a person with a gun on the 2200 block of East Tioga Street.  A 42-year-old black male was located inside a grey Jeep Cherokee with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Police transported the victim to Temple University Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 8:18 P.M. The victim was identified as Sante Shelton of the 30XX block of West Girard Avenue. Scene held, no arrest, and no weapon recovered.   The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives.
