Drunk Driver Taken Into Custody By Off Duty Officer

A suspected drunk driver smashed into several vehicles near the intersection of Levick and Bingham Streets in Philadelphia during the afternoon rush hour.
The driver attempted to drive between two moving cars and hit them both, witnesses said. The injuries were serious but not life threatening. An off duty officer detained the driver until uniformed patrol could come to transport the driver. Traffic around the intersection was jammed for about an hour.
