Two Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Crashes Into Police Car

Two police officers were hurt when a vehicle that was reported stolen was observed by police operating a stolen Santa Fe that was taken in a car jacking on August 16,2023. This crime happened on the 2300 block of North Grantz Street.

As officers attempted to stop the car, the driver took off at a high rate of speed. When the vehicle reached Ogontz and Belfield Avenues, the driver plowed the stolen vehicle into the marked police car, police said. The driver fled and was arrested after a foot chase. He was identified as Shawn Massiah of the 100 block of Widener Street, charged with Criminal Mischief, Theft- Receiving Stolen Property, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Unauthorized Use of Auto.

The passenger,Dajhon Comer, 3100 block of Janney Street, charged with Criminal Mischief, Theft- Receiving Stolen Property, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Unauthorized Use of Auto.

Both officers were in stable condition at Einstein Hospital. All vehicles were towed by police . No weapons were recovered from anyone, police said.
