Male Formally Charged With Murder In Lower Makefield Incident

Trevor Christopher Weigel, of Churchville Pa.was obsessed with his ex girlfriend, Jaden Battista who lived in Lower Makefield Twp. which is in Bucks County Pa. On February 16, 2024 he drove to her residence on Waterford Road. At the time, Battista was on the phone with friend and that friend heard Battista say that her ex was at her house, trying to get in. That friend also heard a struggle and then the line went dead.
Police were called and an officer was close by and saw Weigel allegedly stabbing Battista. The officer then saw him running away and trying to get away via 295. As he was running, Weigel was stabbing himself, causing serious injury. Police took him into custody and to the hospital, where he had surgery for his injuries.
Yesterday, Weigel was formally charged with criminal homicide, burglary, possession of an instrument of crime, disorderly conduct, and harassment. He was denied bail by .Magisterial District Judge Michael W. Petrucci. Police recovered a bloody knife at the scene. The murder happened on February 16,2024.
