Middletown Township ( Bucks County) Police are on the scene on South Buckthorne Avenue where a male has been shot in the face. The shooting happened just after 5:00 PM, when police and EMS was dispatched to the end house on a dead end street .

According to Captain Pete Feeney, from Middletown Police, the shooter is the property owner. Another male came onto the property and an altercation took place. At some point during the altercation, the homeowner shot the male in the face one time. Feeney was unable to say if the male that was shot had any weapons or what he did to provoke the homeowner.. “He is claiming self defense. It’s all under investigation, but we are speaking with him,” he said. .

The male that was shot was known to the homeowner. Feeney stopped short of calling it a domestic,, simply stating “We just don’t know”. The male that was shot was taken to a local hospital and he was conscious, alert and talking to police. Police are not looking for anyone else and there is no danger to the community.

It is too early in the investigation to determine what kind of gun was used and if it was properly registered.
