Phillies To Hold Free Block Party Friday Night

by Alex Lloyd Gross

The Phillies are going to hold a free block party this Friday night, to celebrate their new City Connect uniforms. These uniforms will be available to purchase starting Friday, April 5, 2024 at the New Era team store at the ballpark.

The free block party will take place between 3:00 PM and 9:00PM. That is six hours of fun. The festivities will lead into that night’s Phillies- Nationals game at Washington D.C., with the NBCSP+ game broadcast shown on a giant screen.

Other Phillies Block Party highlights include:

  • Appearances by Phillies alumni, among them: 2008 World Series champion Shane Victorino, 1993 NL champions Mickey Morandini, Milt Thompson (also 2008 World Series champion hitting coach), and Larry Andersen, also a Phillies broadcaster.
  • The Phillie Phanatic and Phillies Ballgirls will be among the special guests.
  • The chance to take photos with the 2008 World Series and 2022 National League Championship Trophies.
  • Adding to the fun will be food trucks and sponsor sampling, a speed pitch and Phillies DJs (DJ HBK, DJ Hollywood and DJ N9NE), who will perform on a big stage and more!
  • Plus, 94.1 WIP will be live from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the team store.

The Phillies will wear the new City Connect jerseys for the first time on Friday, April 12, during that night’s Phillies- Pirates matchup at Citizens Bank Park. In honor of the debut, there will be a postgame party at Pass and Stow with DJ Jazzy Jeff.

The City Connect jerseys will be worn every Friday home game during the 2024 season.
