Woman Found Dead In Car Near Canal Area After Trenton Double Shooting; Shooter Surrenders
by Dan Doyle | November 16, 2025
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Authorities in two states are working to piece together a deadly sequence of events that led police on Sunday to a quiet stretch of the Delaware Canal, where they discovered the body of a woman connected to an earlier shooting in Trenton, New Jersey.
Lower Makefield Township Police were alerted on November 16, 2025, after investigators received cellphone location data tied to one of the victims. Officers responded to East Ferry Road near the canal, where they located a vehicle and the woman’s body inside.
The violence began in Trenton when Lamont Truett allegedly shot two people one male and one female during an early morning encounter. The male victim managed to flee on foot. Truett then allegedly drove off with the wounded female victim in her vehicle, crossing into Pennsylvania.

Sources close to the investigation say Truett later contacted a cousin from a 7-Eleven in Morrisville. Despite checking multiple stores, police were unable to locate him.
A wide search of the surrounding area for Truett produced no results. Detectives from Bucks County and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office jointly took over the investigation, managing the connected crime scenes in both states.
A source later confirmed that Lamont Truett voluntarily surrendered to Trenton Police.
Officials emphasized on social media posts that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Anyone who may have observed suspicious activity or vehicles in the East Ferry Road/Delaware Canal area during the early morning hours of Nov. 16 is urged to contact Lower Makefield Township Police at 215-493-4011.
