Technology Trips Up Bensalem Robbers

30-year-old Ethan Maszczenski and 22-year-old Daniel McKay got tripped up by 21st century technology after they tried to rob the Cloud City Smoke and Vape shop on Neshaminy Blvd. On May 14,2026,the two males. Police said they entered the store at different times.

While they were in the store, officers said that they announced a robbery and one of the males was armed with a crow bar. That did not stop the shopkeeper, got into a tussle with him. Both males ran away and got into a white BMW.

As they made their getaway through Bensalem Township,they tripped license plate readers, intersection cameras and security cameras at the store were able to track the car down. The two thieves were identified and cops knew who they were looking for.

To find them, was not difficult. They were already sitting in a Philadelphia jail. Arrest warrants for Robbery and other related charges were obtained for both Maszczenski and McKay, who had been taken into custody by the Philadelphia Police Department in an unrelated suspected robbery. Daniel McKay was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Terrance P. Hughes, Sr. Bail was set at 10% of $250,000, and McKay was subsequently remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.

Ethan Maszczenski is currently being held in Philadelphia at the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility pending extradition to Bucks County. Both males care charged with robbery and related offenses.
