Driver Hits Pedestrian Then Drives Away In Center City
There are cameras everywhere. Especially in Center City Philadelphia. Those cameras caught a driver hitting a pedestrian on 13th Street at Market just after 8:00 PM. The cameras and witnesses captured the driver getting into his car and driving away.
There is no mistake that the driver hit a debris pile or something else. The driver did stop. He got out , looked at the pedestrian laying in the rain soaked street, mutter to bystander that he had the green light, then moved towards his car and drove away, north on 13th Street.
He is described as a large black male wearing a black jacket with distinctive writing on it, blue jeans and running shoes. The pedestrian is in serious condition and was bleeding profusely when medics arrived.
Police have photos of the male photos of the car along with the tag, which they will track to and from the location of the accident. The male should turn himself in before things get worse for him. According to witnesses, the pedestrian crossed against the light and the driver was not at fault.
Police said had he stayed he would not be facing criminal charges.
